Hairpin Legs

With a range of hairpin legs colours to choose from, there’s plenty of scope to create your own unique reclaimed wood table. The hairpin legs are made from steel, 10mm thick and 2 or 3 rod (depending on availability).

As the Raw Steel hairpin leg options are unfinished they will eventually rust over time. They can be left to rust to leave a cool industrial look, or you can easily treat them with wire wool, or by adding a clear wax or oil finish.

Exterior Finishes

The bench top will be water repellent & weather resistant, and protect against wood rotting fungi, wet rot, dry rot, and wood boring insects and with a finishing oil with UV filters to prevent discolouration from the sun.

Although it’s been treated, we recommend covering the bench when not in use, to offer even longer lasting protection against heavy rain and freezing temperatures.

Our legs are in a powder coat finish. This is water resistant, but any scratches through the paint will expose raw metal which will then rust and can peel off the paint. If any scratches or scrapes occur over time, these parts can be easily touched up with exterior metal paint, to prevent rusting.

The raw steel and copper legs are unsuitable for outdoor use, whilst the zinc legs are built specifically for the outdoors
